HK3R AND 5K3R DIRECT QSLing: "MODE OF OPERATION"

Been a ham-radio is a fascinating experience that help us to share with others a wide range on information, starting form o 599 till having very long chat and becoming a friends. As an output of every single contact there is something that we call QSL-Card. This confirmation can be for diferent reason: there is people who collect this as a post card or as an a single award, there are some other who collect it for the DXCC purpose. On my personal case i am conducting my DXCC trough the LoTW, why? first of all, i dont need to ask anyone or spend money in sending my cards to someone else in order to validate them. Now a days, y do have 98 DXCC in a paper QSL and 93 in LoTW so there is no big diference.

The idea of this article is just to explain the way i have decided to handle my QSLing. Now a days, colombian postal service is extremly expensive (at least for me). It cost about 6.600 colombian pesos which is now a days about3,6 usd:

So there is one fact: I use the colombian postal service just to receive your QSL cards do please send it to:
Anibal dos Ramos
Apartado 253031
Bogota-Colombia

Thinking on everybody's pocket, i have decided to use Venezuelan postage or the US postage. Why? cause with 1 usd i am able to send your QSL card.
Notes:
  • Please dont send US stamps cause i dont know if the next trip will be to US or to Venezuela. Most pobably it will be Venezuela.
  • IRC it work as well so if you have it you can send it to me, no problem.
Disadvantage: there is a compromise which is the lead-time. It will take couple of months in order to collect certain amount of QSL AND also someone who travels from Colombia to  Venezuela or to US. This is the best way I have found for handling QSL.
Anyway, i just want to recommend you to use LoTW cause in my opinion this is the future. With the time, all postal services will be more and more expensive.
